The department of Botany is affiliated to Bengaluru Central University, Bengaluru. The department was established in the year 1964 which offers Bachelor of Science with the combination of Botany, Chemistry and Zoology. The core philosophy of the department is to provide scientific education through experiments in the laboratory. Indeed, the department is not only focussing classroom-based teaching and learning but also encourages to develop scientific temperament among students by conducting various co-curricular and extracurricular activities. This initiation is getting momentum and galvanizing the students to enrich their knowledge in the field of Botany and research in general.
The department has a spacious and well-equipped laboratory and preserved plant specimens from lower to higher forms.
