About cell:
Women Empowerment Cell of the College came into existence in 2008 with motto of empowering women in general, our students and faculty in particular. The cell conducts special lectures pertaining to women issues like legal awareness, health and hygiene, gender issues and inspirational talks by achievers. Every year March 8 th , the International Women’s Day is celebrated in a befitting manner. Girls are encouraged to perform on stage, or compete in different competitions conducted for them ,exclusively.
Women Empowerment Cell (WEC) is established to empower girl students and staff. To ensure their understanding of issues related to women in society to face the challenges with great courage.
The WEC works to promote gender sensitivity in the college and conduct diverse programs to educate, sensitize both male and female members and produce a harmonious atmosphere on the campus. It works for the welfare of the students and faculty towards preparing them into competent professionals to take up greater challenges in the academic sphere. The Registrar nominates the members of WEC.
Objectives
- To promote equality for the female gender
- To provide opportunity and program for the female gender to be financially, mentally, and emotionally empowered.
- To conduct seminars to spread information on numerous opportunities available.
Roles and Responsibility:
- Safeguard the rights of female students, faculty and staff members.
- Create awareness among girl students on occupational, legal and constitutional rights.
- Spread importance of cell among girl students.
- Interact regularly with girl students.
- To bring to the notice of cell if any gender specific arises among girl students.
